AWESOME

The North West Young Persons Network

What do AWESOME do?

AWESOME meets regularly and aims to have young people representatives from across the North West's 23 Local Authority Areas.

The representatives are active in their own local authority area, and participate in AWESOME to:

  • Discuss experiences, issues or best practice from their local area

  • Discuss the priorities of young people with SEND

  • Support each other

  • Champion change for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (0-25)

The group was launched in September 2016 and the aim is that the representatives bring feedback from their local area and act as their area representatives. The young people reps also feedback to their own local authority areas about the work of AWESOME.

Each meeting will be held in a different Local Authority area in the North West and will be chaired by the young people in the hosting Local Authority.

As a result of AWESOME, two representatives will also attend the North West SEND Regional Network Steering Group meetings, where they will join colleagues from parent forums, voluntary sector, Health, Education and Social Care and represent the views, wishes and aspirations on Young People in the North West.

This is a great opportunity and AWESOME would love YOU to attend! So to check out details of the next meeting, click here

See you there!
